He's foreshortened somewhat by the upward angle of the shot, but this is a golden eagle we found perched in a tree along the Toutle River.  By staying in the car and shooting out the window, we were able to get right up next to him without frightening him off.  A useful trick for photographing all kinds of animals in the wild--most animals recognize a human shape instantly and flee, but they don't know what to make of a car.
